Sweet Potato Chocolate Swirl Shake

This Recipe Is: Free of gluten, dairy, soy, eggs and nuts. It is also vegan and paleo.

Hi Friends!

I don’t usually post on Saturdays but this shake is so good I have to share! It uses Genesis Today’s Vegan Detox Greens. This stuff is so bomb! I always want to get more greens into my diet but can only stomach so much raw veg. I’ve tried blending things like kale into my smoothies but it is always ends up getting so grainy I just can’t gulp it down. I’ve also tried other powdered greens but with my sensitive stomach some of them sit too heavy. That’s why I love that this is made with goodies that support digestion.

Now on to the smoothie! This thing is sooooo bomb! I feel like I’m eating a straight up dessert. It’s so thick and creamy you have to eat it with a spoon. The combo of flavors you get from the smoothie swirled with the sunflower seed chocolate sauce is so incredible! You hear me say chocolate sauce and you’re probably thinking, “ok she’s ranting about greens but she’s adding them to a dessert?” NO! This shake is super healthy! There are so many vitamins and nutrients bopping around – between the sweet potato, banana, sunflower seed butter, cinnamon AND the Genesis Today greens. It’s the perfect blend of deliciousness and healthiness.

Ingredients for shake:

Ingredients for chocolate swirl:

  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seed butter
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips – use Equal Exchange or Enjoy Life for dairy free
  • 1 tablespoon almond milk

Directions for shake:

  1. Blend all ingredients well! That’s it. Start with 1/4 cup almond milk and add more to reach your desired thickness.
  2. Note: I partially peeled sweet potato but left some skin on for the fiber and potassium. The skin does not blend perfectly so if that texture would bother you, remove it completely.

Directions for chocolate swirl:

  1. Put sunflower seed butter and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds to a minute or until chocolate chips are soft through.
  2. Whisk in almond milk adding more if it is still too thick.
  3. Swirl the chocolate sauce in with your shake.
  4. Enjoy!
