Here is my list of the best dairy free ice cream brands and products. I’ll be sharing my favorite dairy free ice cream brands as well as some specific products you need to try!

With Summer fast approaching we need to talk about the best dairy free ice cream options out there. Just because you’re dairy free does not mean you have to miss out these days!

I’ve been dairy free for almost my entire life, and dairy free ice cream has come a LONG way. Considering I grew up eating lemon ice or rice dream, yea we’re pretty blessed with all the new dairy free ice cream brands. Whether you’re new to the dairy free ice cream game or just want to find some new brands, hopefully, my list can help you pick out some great products to try.

"the best dairy free ice creams; 11 brands + products you need to try!"

I see so much debate about the best dairy free ice cream brands. Let’s face it, we all have different taste preferences. Like when it comes to favorite flavors you’ll see I prefer a vanilla base to a chocolate base. But one of my biggest requirements that I don’t think any of us dairy free folks should compromise on is texture. That’s why I’m always surprised when some people settle for the icy hard dairy free ice cream brands. There are so many creamy options these days, we really don’t have to miss out on smooth ice cream just because we’re dairy free!

I will be putting clickable links for each of these companies or specific products. None of this is sponsored, I’m just trying to make the search easy for you. 🙂

This list is not in any particular order. These are all brands and products I enjoy at different times depending on what I’m in the mood for or what I can find at the store.

1. NadaMoo!

This is probably one of my all-time favorite dairy free ice cream brands. They make some incredible flavors that most companies aren’t trying and their texture is SO creamy! I never feel like I’m missing out when I enjoy their ice cream.

My favorite flavors: Birthday Cake Cookie Dough, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Pistachio Nut

2. So Delicious Oat Milk

Ok, I’ll be honest, some of the So Delicious ice cream lines are just awful. The cashewmilk and sugar free coconutmilk lines are both hard as a rock! I couldn’t imagine choosing those (even if the flavors are decent) when there are so many creamy options out there. That’s why I was hesitant to even try their oatmilk variety and maybe you feel the same. But and here’s a big BUT, it’s amazing! It’s so creamy and you can usually find the S’Mores flavor in my freezer.

My favorite flavor: S’Mores – I’m so obsessed with it I haven’t even branched out to try the rest

3. So Delicious Dipped Bars

If you want a novelty ice cream treat that you can enjoy on a fun Summer’s day, So Delicious does have some amazing ice cream bars on a stick. It will make you feel like you’re a kid at an ice cream truck again, but this time there’s no missing out just because you’re dairy free. I prefer the flavors with crunchy almonds in the chocolate, the crunchy texture is just so good with the creamy ice cream.

My favorite flavors: Dipped Coconut Almond, Mocha Almond Fudge Bars

4. Target Brand – Archer Farms AlmondMilk Ice Cream

Full disclosure I’ve only tried this ice cream once, I just don’t go to Target that often. Shocking, right? But from my one experience, it’s a great dairy free ice cream brand at a GREAT price which definitely makes it worthwhile to put it on the list. It was maybe a touch sweet for my preference, but the texture was nice and creamy and they have some fun flavors to try!

My favorite flavor: I’ve only tried one and it was the Vanilla Cake & Cookie Dough

5. Daiya bars

Let’s be honest, Daiya can be hit or miss when it comes to their dairy free replacement products. But their ice cream bars are a real hit and a fun treat for a hot Summer day! You really can’t beat smooth creamy dairy free ice cream coated in a crunchy layer of chocolate.

My favorite flavors: Salted Caramel Swirl and Chocolate Fudge Crunch

6. Trader Joe’s Non-Dairy Ice Creams

Trader Joe’s has a small variety of dairy free ice creams. They’re all pretty simple (think plain chocolate and plain strawberry) but they are so tasty and they have amazingly creamy textures. Definitely a great find at such a great price.

My favorite flavors: Chocolate Coconut Milk, Strawberry Coconut Milk, and Strawberry Non-Dairy Oat

7. Trader Joe’s Dairy Free Mochi

These are such a unique ice cream treat, but they are so good. I love the chewy outer texture and the filling is so creamy. They might be a little to sweet for me to buy them frequently, but when I’m craving them, they’re perfect!

My favorite flavor: Thai Tea Mini Mochi (make sure they have dairy free ingredients as Trader Joe’s also has dairy-full mochi frozen treats)

8. Ben and Jerry’s Vegan Line

Ben and Jerry’s has some amazing dairy free ice creams available. The texture is a thick creamy ice cream that is very close to the real thing. And as per their usual styles, they have some really fun flavors as well. Unfortunately for me, I’m gluten free too so my flavor choices are limited. But if you’re only dairy free, have fun exploring the Ben & Jerry’s dairy free line of ice cream!

My favorite flavors: Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia

9. Coconut Bliss

This actually used to be my all-time favorite dairy free ice cream. The texture is so creamy and I love how clean and healthy the ingredients are. I can admit they might not be everybody’s cup of tea because they are NOT incredibly sweet like some might prefer. But I actually really enjoy that about them. I would be eating them more often but since moving to Maine I can’t seem to find them at our local stores.

My favorite flavor: Legendary cookie dough

10. Coconut Bliss Cookie Sandwiches

Another Coconut Bliss dairy free ice cream treat, these sandwiches are incredible. And as per usual for them, they really aren’t painfully sweet so you’ll easily eat the whole thing in one sitting! Plus bonus for me, they’re gluten free.

My favorite flavor: Vanilla but the chocolate is pretty amazing too

11. Dairy Queen Non-Dairy Dilly Bars

These are a relatively new product at Dairy Queen and I have heard mixed opinions amongst other dairy free folks. I’ll admit the ice cream texture probably isn’t the CREAMIEST I’ve had and it does have a strong coconut flavor (which I actually enjoy, but I know some don’t). But combine that cold ice cream with the crisp chocolate coating it’s just such a tasty treat that I actually want and crave. And as a dairy free girl, there’s something so special about being able to have a fun dairy free treat while out and about. These are definitely a win for me.
